Lucía Romero
Lucía Romero (1967, San Fernando, Cádiz). Higher Degree in Artistic Ceramics from the School of Art, Cádiz. Multidisciplinary artist.
I feel a certain emotion in preserving the fabrics that have kept me warm and accompanied me throughout my life. For some reason, I cannot part with them: I select them, preserve them, and care for them. Each piece has a story, a memory that makes it invaluable. The attachment I feel towards these materials is not only emotional but also symbolic; they are fragments of experiences I want to preserve.
Through textiles, I not only connect with my past but also find a way to give them new life, transforming them into something completely different. Although the work may appear geometric and rational, its process is bodily and tactile.
